The Gong Chun Teapot is a classic and highly revered Yixing teapot style, named after the famous Ming Dynasty potter Gong Chun who is recognized as the earliest known master of Yixing wares.  Gong Chun’s work set the foundation for generations of teapot makers. Gong Chun styles are prized for their organic, textured surface, inspired by the natural patterns of tree bark/gall, and their excellent tea-brewing properties, thanks to the porous nature of Yixing clay.
 
This Duanni Gong Chun Teapot is crafted from duanni (段泥), a type of Yixing clay known for its light golden hue and exceptional breathability. Duanni clay enhances the tea’s aroma and allows for smoother flavor development over time.
